The Pattern He Could Not Unsee

The system had 12 minutes. The problem lived in the other 23 hours and 48 minutes.

For two decades Joel worked intensive care and emergency medicine, starting IVs on people in hypertensive crisis and stabilizing bodies that had been running on empty for years. The medicine worked. The system did not. He kept discharging patients into the exact same life that sent them in, then meeting them again a few months later, a little sicker, a little more medicated, a little more convinced nothing could change.

"Nobody was failing on purpose. Not the doctors, not the patients. The appointment was just too short for the truth."

So he trained as a naturopathic practitioner and left the hospital system to teach what the 12 minute appointment never has time for: the everyday inputs, stress, sugar, and sodium, that drive the numbers. AND not INSTEAD OF. Everything he teaches works alongside a doctor's plan, never against it.

Off The Clock

Six kids, a hobby farm, and a wife who builds too.

Joel is married to Annie Chitate, a registered nurse and founder in her own right. Together they cofounded Everyday Nurse, her hormone health education brand with a YouTube community 50,000 strong. They are raising six kids on a small hobby farm near Louisville, Kentucky, where the health advice gets field tested at the dinner table before it ever reaches a page.

By his own account, the proudest line on his resume is that none of it has come at the expense of his family.
